The Winamp Online Service ARD Radionet that is available on this domain has been created by Eberhard Werle. All required files are available online and are used by Winamp automatically as soon as the configuration file has been downloaded into the respective folder. All information required to establish this online service has been extracted from the official ARD website http://web.ard.de/radio/radionet/.
Winamp Version 5.57. Newer Winamp Versions should also be working, but have not been tested.
To use the Winamp Online Service ARD Radionet, the file omService_{0000033708}.ini needs to be downloaded from ardnet/omService_{0000033708}.ini into the Windows folder %APPDATA%\Winamp\Plugins\ml\omServices. To do so, click on the link above and select Save File. A path selection dialog will open. Select the folder in which the file should be downloaded. The folder %APPDATA%\Winamp\Plugins\ml\omServices corresponds to the folder C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Winamp\Plugins\ml\omServices in Windows XP and C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Winamp\Plugins\ml\omServices in Windows 7 and higher. In case that Windows was installed on a drive other than C:, select that particular drive instead of drive C:.
That's all. The Online Service can now be used as described under Usage below.
The Online Service was tested with Winamp Version 5.57 and should also work with newer Winamp Versions. In case that a newer Winamp Version uses a different omServices folder, the file omService_{0000033708}.ini must be copied into that particular folder for the Online Service to work.
Start Winamp, click on the Media Library tab and expand Online Services in the Media Library pane. The entry ARD Radionet should be listed there. Just click on ARD Radionet to start the Online Service. It can take a few seconds until the list of the ARD radio stations is getting displayed. To listen to a station, just click on the Icon of the particular station. When scrolling down, more icons are being loaded while the list is scrolling down.
The ARD Radionet Online Service has not been registered with Winamp (AOL) and hence some functions like "Get Info" and others are not working...
